Tweed Pencil Skirt-Target
Black Leather Gloves-Lord and Taylor

Today's Challenge is to dress up a coat.  As I was styling this inspiration, I was thinking of how to present this simple, yet possibly most important piece of our wardrobes.  Coats protect us from the bitter winds, harsh cold, driving rains, falling snow.  They wrap us in a layer of warmth.  Isn't this something that home also does?  Or a parent?  Or someone who loves us?  Coats are essential, just as a home, a mom and dad, being loved.  Every Christmas a couple, that I love very dearly, always gives me a cuddly sweat jacket, but this year they blessed me with a ski parka!  Every time I put my arms in my new coat or one of the sweat jackets, pull up the zipper and pull the collar snug against my neck, it always reminds me of how much they love me.  How they cared about me, that they wanted me to be warm and protected from the elements.  It's always like wrapping myself in their big hugs, that's what I always think of every time I wear it.  It was like they were saying to me with this gift, "I won't always be there when you wear this, but I care and want you to be safe, warm and protected.  You are valued."  I'm thankful for my sweet friends, their gift of a warmth and the protection of their love.
