Today's challenge is to mix patterns.  A lot of my posts have a mix of patterns and I love it!!!  It makes me feel happy, adds a bit of whimsy to a rainy day, makes people smile and it'll make you smile too!  This is one topic that I get a TON of questions about.  I've combined 6-Yes 6!-patterns.  So, in an effort to demystify this style for you who are new to the mix, maybe these 3 tips will help you mix it up:

Start with just 2 patterns first, then 3 and work up to more.

Pick patterns at first (until you're used to combining them, feeling more confident and have developed an eye) that have 3 colors in common.  Example:  Blue, Green, Yellow

Choose a large, medium and small pattern.

**Also, this is something I do ALL the time and it might be helpful to you too.  If you're wearing a tank under something and it's a little on the low side, making you feel a wee bit exposed, wear it backward (unless the tank has a racer back--that would present an even more drastic problem!).  Since the back is cut higher than the front, problem solved!  In the photos you are looking at the back of the tanks.  Tricky.  I know!
