Over the weekend, I attended an awesome Goodwill Holiday Fashion Workshop at a store in the D.C. Metro Area! It was a blast!!! Along with the DCGoodwillFashionista, who was an absolute delight, high energy, enthusiastic, passionate thrifter, I got to gather with like minded bloggers and shoppers! An hour BEFORE the store actually opened! Who doesn’t dream of being locked in a store that has lots of treasures waiting to be discovered??? The finds were great-like this skirt, pictured above, from Europe! I spent under $40! Those of you who “Like” Outfit 31 on Facebook, have already seen my scores on Saturday, but for those who have not, I’ll include the rundown! The items purchased were this skirt (which I’m really luvin’ with the mauve sweater, denim and gray handbag!!!), an Aurora Borealis rhinestone necklace, a three piece Loft tweed suit, a pair of new brown Natrualizers, a pair of new Payless pumps. and a partridge in a pear tree!
It was so much fun just getting to shop with so many others! They were shoppin’ for me, I was shoppin’ for them. A shoppers dream!!! There was a pair of haircalf leopard pointy toe Calvin Klein flats that absolutely needed my a home, they were seriously gorgeous!! Of course I had to do my best Cinderella impersonation trying to get that size six shoe on my much larger foot!!! Can’t fault a girl for tryin’! They did find a new home, I’m glad to tell you! Lots of vintage cashmere. Lots of Crew. Lots of Ann Taylor. Lots of Talbots. Lots of Chico’s. Even saw some Saks, Neiman Marcus, Coach. I cannot urge you enough to also include vintage thrifted items in your wardrobe. It’s fun! Not a ton o cash. You never know what you’re gonna find–don’t bring a list–you’ll find unexpected items. Lots of items are brand spankin’ new! Connect with your local Goodwill and get to know them. Ask about events they my host! Tell them what vintage treasures you’re searching for, so they can help you search. You’re gonna have a great time connecting with others and scorin’ those bargains! It’s also good for your heart, because you’re helping your community!!! THAT’S the best part!
